Raw Food Diet Weight Loss - Eating Through The Seasons


Have you noticed how Raw Food not only helps you lose weight really fast - it is also very delicious?

Before I increased my intake of Raw Fruits and Vegetables in my diet….I am a bit embarassed to say that I did not eat much of a variety of fruits and vegetables. I pretty much stuck with some old standards like Apples, Bananas and Grapes.

I guess that might be because I grew up in a very cold climate (Alaska) and we did not get many fresh fruits and vegetables up there.

Now that I live in a much warmer climate I have been blessed to be exposed to so many different fresh fruits and veggies that it has been a blast trying new fruits and vegetables and adding them to my diet.

Now I look forward to each new season because I get to enjoy whatever happens to be available.

For instance - I love spring and summer because I get to indulge in my passion for Watermelon — and I eat some every day with gusto! It is so delicious. So nutritious. And very good for losing weight and keeping it off.

I also enjoy fresh grapes, cherries, peaches, cantaloupe, honeydew melons and so many  more during the summer months.

Then Fall comes…..and the most delicious apples and pears become available. I can eat them to my hearts content!

And then Winter….which used to make me a little sad…because that meant no more fresh watermelon!

But then I found Pomegranates….oh my goodness….I had never had pomegranates until I learned about the raw food diet and now I am addicted to them. I can't get enough of them when they are in season.

So what is the point of this post to you wonderful readers?

I want to encourage you to look at the raw food diet and weight loss in a new way.

Look at ALL the wonderful delicious foods you get to enjoy (and eat as MUCH as you like and want)

Don't focus on what you can't have.

Your body feels so much better (and lighter!) when you fill it with delicious raw fruits and vegetables - so go for it.

Start exploring the fruits and vegetables that are "in season" at your local farmer's market or your grocery store.

Try new ones - be brave - you never know, you just might find a NEW favorite fruit that you will fall in love with and enjoy. I have been so pleasantly surprised by fruits that I never would have though would become my favorites.

Start eating fresh fruits and vegetables through the seasons and watch your waistline get smaller and your smiles get larger!
