Raw Food Diet Weight Loss | How To Eat Healthy Raw Food When You Travel

A friend recently shared that she was a bit concerned about going on vacation with a friend.
My friend wanted to keep eating healthy on her trip and she even was going to visit with a supportive friend that would be understanding about her desire to eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables during her travels.
This is what I shared with her…..I hope it helps you on YOUR next trip or vacation
Don't feel like you have to miss out on what could be a wonderful trip with a friend — especially if you have such support from her..
I made a trip to Alaska when I was 100% raw and believe me it not easy to find good tasting produce in Alaska (it tastes a bit different cause they have to ship pretty much all the produce up there way in advance of it beginning to ripen) and the produce is really expensive.
But I went on the trip anyway - I was homesick and wanted to visit family and friends.
The entire trip I was able to continue my eating plan of lots of fresh fruits and vegetables…I purchased the high priced produce and enjoyed it immensely.
I ate fruit every morning and throughout the day - watermelon, apples, whatever I had a hankering for.
And then every night I had a big salad….(I brought my own dressing in my purse in a little container)….so if I went to a restaurant I just ordered a salad with tons of veggies on it and I always asked for romaine instead of iceberg — it worked out just fine.
The entire trip I was not hungry — that was key…if I let myself get too hungry then I wanted to eat anything and everything in sight. So I made sure that I never let myself go to long between eating and nourishing myself.
If I needed to…I would go sit in my car and dive into a watermelon — I had to use my pocketknife to cut it open ? and I ate it with a plastic fork but I met my needs for the food my body was craving.
Oh yeah, I also carried a Lara bar (raw fruit and nut snack bar) in my purse at all times just in case I was overwhelmed with cravings to eat the food I saw my friends and relatives. I still carry one in my purse…I rarely eat it but it is my safety net in case someone is trying to offer me a brownie or some other freshly baked sugar filled treat.
Whatever you decide to when you go on a trip - just know that you can find ways to eat the way you choose no matter where you are…it just takes a little pre-planning to care for yourself - but you are worth it!
