Raw Foods Cleanse for Weight Loss - Day 3

Hey everyone — I am tracking what I eat each day during this cleanse on twitter.

Well I woke up day 3 and weighed myself and saw that I had already released 4 pounds - that is 4 lbs gone in 2 days of cleansing. Yippee!

Day 3 - I ate:

I made a delicious green smoothie with pineapple, beets, broccoli, strawberries, spinach, banana, and yellow pepper.

Later I ate a banana - yummy!

For dinner I ate a large bowl of mangos and strawberries - I am truly addicted to this taste sensation. So wonderful and so healthy.

I did have a snack later in the evening…I just could not resist eating a little bit more mango / strawberry.

I like the results I am having so far on this Raw Food Cleanse. I am certain that I will complete it and experience the loss of weight and increase of energy I want to have before going into the holiday season.

Hi Jana,

So I don't think I'm doing so well on this cleanse. I had my first day today, so I didn't start when you did. I felt really cold the whole day - is that normal? Also, do you think I can lose some of the fat thatI've stored by eating all of those excess clories? I am really unhappy about all of that sudden belly fat, but today I felt really tired after the first day, and it's really hard fr me to excersise because of that.

Also, is it ok if I don't eat the exact same foods that you're eating?

Hi Malvina-

First I just want to say how proud I am of you for doing the raw cleanse. That takes a big step of faith to try something so new and different for you. Bravo! :)

You don't have to work out when you first start out…in fact, you may need to rest more due to detoxing from your previous diet.

Common Detox symptoms are:
Low energy, depression in the first few days
Cravings for unhealthy fods
Self-doubt about what you are doing
Headaches
Mental "fogginess"
Sweating, bad breath

If you are cold you may not be eating enough calories.

You can track everything you are eating (calories, fat grams, nutrients) for free at http://www.fitday.com

Yes you can lose weight and the belly fat - as long as you burn more calories than you take in each day…the fitday.com site will show you your deficit in calories each day which leads to weight loss. It is a cool site.

You don't have to eat what I eat….you can eat almost any fruits and veggies you want to eat.

Basically the food you eat should be
1. a fruit or a vegetable
2. it must be raw
3. it must be fresh
4. it must be fat free
